Mid-Year Review: Music & Trip

17/8/2012

Continuing my last post,  I realized I have another thing to review. My leisure things, of course. Last post, I talked about movies I've watched. Now, I want to talk about concert I attended and trips I have, in terms of business trip. Let's begin!!!
CONCERT
I have to admit, this year I felt euphoria moment in terms of concert. Until June 2012, I attended 2 concerts, which is very memorable for me.

1. Super Junior Super Show 4

Picture
I have to admit that I turned as teenager because of this concert. I'm a huge fan of Super Junior (although lots teenager can be considered as die-hard fans out there) and couldn't hide my excitement when finally they actually came to Indonesia!!!

Like any ELFs (Ever Lasting Friends, the official fan club for Super Junior) in Indonesia, I really wish they have a concert here. Their previous concert, Super Show 1-3, they didn't come to Indonesia. So when they announced they will hold Super Show 4 in Jakarta, all ELFs (including me) like celebrated the historical day! With the help of my friend, I got the ticket.

On 28/4 I came to venue with thousands of fan. I enjoyed the 4-hours concert, screaming like a teenager at every performances of Super Junior, both group and solo. At the beginning, there was a little incident where suddenly screen and music went crashed and it took almost 1 minute to got it done. But that's all. The concert ended with Siwon showered with lots of water. SEXY!!!

Some notes for the organizer of this concert. I even read an open letter from one fandom about the organizer's arrangement. Inside the venue, lots of empty spaces. So audience who once already sat in upper area (which is cheaper ticket price were asked to move to lower area (the expensive one). Some audience would consider it as advantage, but maybe other would consider it as disadvantage. With cheaper ticket they bought, they can get the same class as the expensive one. Well, that's just my opinion. Nothing more.

2. Konser Kidung Abadi Chrisye

I really excited with this concert. When I heard the news, I called my Mum directly and asked her if she wants to see the concert. Since Chrisye always her favorite singer of all time, she said yes. So I bought the ticket for both of us. This is our first concert date ever hehehe. We went with Mbak Ketty and her Mum, too.

On 5/4, we went to the JCC and queued before the gates were open. When we finally entered the lobby, lots of Chrisye's memorabilia. Pictures, awards, albums, all were displayed there. We took some times to took a picture there. Then we entered Plenary Hall and found seats in the middle.

Overall concert, you can found about it here. I really blessed because I watched the concert with my Mum. This was my treat for her. I will definitely do this date with my Mum. Rumor has it, KLA Project will have their concert by the end of this year. If it's true, we will arrange another date concert hehehe.

TRIP
Due to my job as Admission Officer, I have to travel with Marketing Team to do selection test for recruiting new students in various cities of Indonesia. Although it's for work, but we managed to sneaked out to search for fun :)

All my remaining trips happened to be in January 2012. First, I went to Yogya to arranged a selection test and interview. In our free time, we roamed to find a place to eat. First stop, of course the famous Raminten. On the weekend, lots of people went here so we put in waiting list. Not for long, we finally have our table. When we looked at the menu,,, SO CHEAP!!! Overall, for 3 of us, the cost was under IDR 100,000. Not to mention the taste was soooooo good!!!

Next stop, to Mirota Batik at Malioboro. We heard that there were cabaret show every weekend. So we went there, to the 3rd floor of Mirota Batik. We have to reserved place because this show quite popular in Yogya. The show itself labeled as Heterosexual Cabaret Show. The performances consists of dances and parody songs by artists who dressed like a drag queen. The show itself had a serious packaging, with big stage and smokes here and there, not to mention the lighting arrangement. While watching the show, you can order food from Oyot Godhong Restaurant.

In Yogya, I found other side of freedom that I doubt I can find it in Jakarta, publicly. Like the cabaret show, for example. can we find it in Jakarta publicly??? When I left Yogya, I looked outside the window of airplane. I felt my heart was left in Yogya. Can't wait to go back again,,,

Second stop, Padang. West Sumatra is my Grandmother homeland, Bukittinggi to be precise. For this visit, I didn't go to Bukittinggi, just Padang because it was interview only. Padang, went to some historical sites. Also famous with its beach, and also turtle egg. What made me sad, some of these eggs still fresh taken from beach. Those eggs, the turtle mother left her eggs at the beach so one day it will hatch into little turtle that one day will have an exciting adventure in the sea. So I'm begging you, if you visit Padang, don't you ever buy the turtle eggs. Please...

My last travel in the first-half of 2012 was Makassar. Sulawesi Selatan, is my grandfather's homeland. Bulukumba to be exact. We have lots of relative live here. So I contacted my uncle and aunt there. Once I landed, I met briefly with them since they worked at the Sultan Hasanuddin Airport. Me and my colleague went to the hotel for rest awhile, and then ADVENTURE!!!

Luckily we stayed near the beach. So we strolled a bit before we went to Trans Studio Mall. No we didn't go to Trans Studio, we didn't have any intention to go there either hehehe.

We also have culinary adventure. We have a very helpful driver that showed us interesting foods here and there. We concluded our time in Makassar to a private beach. Losari Beach was a public beach and have no shore where I can soak my feet. In this beach (I forgot the name), I can played a bit. That's when I lost my Blackberry because it fell to the beach sand hehehe. Overall, it was good time in Makassar.

Hopefully I can travel to va
