What did you do on the last long weekend??? For those of you who celebrated Easter, spent times with you family and egg-hunt game. For others, laid down in bed or go to a trip. Me, watched a concert with my Mum on 5/4 On that particular date, there was a concert. "Kidung Abadi Chrisye", the concert by the legendary singer Chrisye. Me and my Mum are huge fans of his songs. I grew up with his songs. His 3 concerts is one of my most desire concerts I want to attend. But due to age and house location, we could only see the concert on TV. Something me and Mum regret it until now. Because after the singer died on 2007, now we have an opportunity to attend his concert, with his image on stage.
I bought the tickets and made plans with my Mum. On the big day, Mum already queue 45 minutes earlier before the gate was opened. I watched the concert with Mbak Ketty and her mum too. We chose to sat at Tribune. The reason was simple, to see whole stage. Although I didn't get the chance to took a closer looks of every performers, but it's worth it to watched it from tribune. I didn't care if pictures I took turns out to blur hehehe. I have a habit in every music show I attended. I always bring pocket camera, to take a pictures and record the performance. But for this concert, I didn't record any performances, just the new song "Kidung Abadi". Gita Gutawa wrote this song and Erwin Gutawa composed the music. He used hundreds of Chrisye's master record to make this song was sing by Chrisye. I started to goosebumps when I heard this song. The whole concert itself,,, EPIC!!! The first part of the show was the performances from Gita Gutawa, GIGI, Vina Panduwinata and Once. I love Once's part. When he sang the first three words of "Sabda Alam", I really thought it was Chrisye!!! His voice really reminded me of Chrisye, but in rock version. The second part, it's totally Chrisye's concert. On stage there was a big screen, underneath the the screen was the whole crew of orchestra led by Erwin Gutawa. On the screen, they played footage of Chrisye's concert. Then suddenly we were greeted by Chrisye!!! The man himself greeted the audience, and I started to teary. My dreams came true!!! Although only greeted by Chrisye on the screen. The song was sang by Chrisye's sample voice. But the music, the played it live!!! It's not tribute concert, but truly Chrisye's concert. There were few times me and Mum teased each other. I enjoyed tease her, since some of Chrisye's song related to her love life in the past. There was a time that I couldn't hold my tears. When Chrisye sang "Seperti Yang Kau Minta". Suddenly, tears rolled out my face and cried while singing. I don't know why I got so emotional during that part. Until now, I'm still thinking why I cried with that particular song. Clueless. I love all performers, but the performers I anticipated was Sophia Latjuba. I never heard her sing in live performance, so I kinda curious. Not to mention Mum told me that she was sick and the doctors forbid her to sing. But since it's Chrisye, she had to do it. She had duet performances, "Kangen" and "Setangkai Anggrek Bulan". I especially love the latter one, because it's old song and the lyrics really beautiful. The concept was Sophie sing with Chrisye. So he appeared in image form. But if you saw it from tribune,,, that part was creepy. Literally. Once I post the photos you will know what I mean. The concert ended beautifully. On screen there's a image of person inside a prism. Slowly, that image moved like it was flying to the roof, and slowly disappeared. It's like we literally delivered Chrisye to his final resting. Once again, my eyes got teary. I don't know when will I see epic concert like this. Above all, this concert maybe my first and last concert of Chrisye. The legendary singer was long gone, and I only have this opportunity to watch the concert just after he's gone. Literally once in a lifetime. This concert,,, was a perfect way to honor Chrisye. I don't think there will be another singer like him. The singer who can gather thousands of people in one place, listening to his music and sing along together, just like when he was alive. I'm very proud to be part of it. To be part of epic concert to honor great singer.
