Well finally I have the guts to write this down. I was thinking a lot before I decided to write it down.
Yes, I finally start my new chapter...
After 3 years and 8 months, I decided to have a new challenge. Not an easy decision, it never had. Before I said yes, it took me 3 months to think over it. Lots of reason, one of them was my Mum's treatment to cancer. I need to committed for her treatment.
The other one, of course my students and my colleagues. Those are the most precious things for me. They are my rock. We laughed together, cried together and shared everything. So yeah, it broke my heart when I have to tell them that I'm leaving.
Now my new chapter begin. I joined a foundation, small one. Why I choose this foundation? The vision to help students achieve a better life. The vision that I no longer found in my previous office. In this new place, I have to adjust myself.
Let's face it, my old office is a big place. Lots of employees and office boys. In my new place, small number of staffs and only have one office boys. So you need to take care yourself. My new office is also adopt open office space. It's good for me since I always made my table really messy hehehe.
I thank all my colleagues for making my time in the office worth every second. I thank all my students for the trust they gave me. I wouldn't trade my 3 years time with anything.
New projects waiting for me. I can't wait to participate. Wish me luck for my new chapter as I always wish all of you the best of luck in any field you do.
Another farewell party in my office. No tears, just laughter. We celebrate our moments working together. Within 2 years, we became big family.
Thank you Pak Budi and Pak George. It was my privilege to work with you. Every meeting was inspired one, full with laugh. Every discussion open new perspectives for us.
Friends remain friends... Wish you all the best in your new place. Until we meet again Pak Budi and Pak George. We'll wait for "good news" hehehe.
Yesterday is National Education Day. Working in educational institution made me realize, that until this day lots of children didn't get a proper education. I have the example here.
His name is Saepul. He came from Pandeglang to attended SSB Selection Test, and in the end he was granted with Student Financing from Koperasi Siswa Bangsa. I still remember his first day came to SSB for matriculation program. He just arrived from Pandeglang with big bag. I can see his spirit to learn from the very beginning. So he's kinda like my little brother, considering he called me "Teteh" (big sister in Sunda language).
But coming here, totally a great deal for him. His English not too good, made him being put in "High Risk Student" category since we use English in teaching. I also told the lecturers about Saepul. Every lunch time, they sometimes talked about how they taught Saepul slowly from the basic. But they all loves Saepul attitude. Everyday after class, he always asked their time to consultation. This is his way to understand the topic better. He actively joined mentoring program, both for Business and English subjects.
Each day, Saepul showed many progress. His grades slowly getting better and by the end of first semester, he got GPA 2,49. While some of his friends got lower than him. When I recapitulated his grades, I felt like a proud sister. Considering the struggle he must faced at the beginning, this is good achievement. All lecturers also satisfied with his hard work.
Saepul once said that he didn't get much from his school, in terms of teaching quality and facilities. This is the reality of our education. Always an issue each year. But we found kids like Saepul, a boy that never surrender to such condition. He found a way so he can continue his study,,,
Need to be more determined person myself,,, and I learn it from Saepul,,,

Feels like I'm the parents HAHAHA
My last post was back in July, on my birthday. Almost 3 months I didn't update this blog. What can I say in the past 3 months??? A LOT!
Well the admission process for 2011 intake is over. Finally we have 84 new students for 2011. After long and tiring process of admission, it's finally done!!! On 5 September, we started the English Matriculation program for new intake. This program is to make them familiar with English environment in SSB. This program last until 9 September 2011.
I happened to asked some students about matriculation program. Here's what they said:
Lots of answer came up. But the majority is the answers above. Exciting, scared, but they got support from lecturers. The college world is something new to them and they can't wait for the adventure.
To help the transition from high school to college life, we held an orientation on 12-16 September 2011. The whole 5 days, the students have packed schedule with games and sessions. As part of committee, I helped Mbak Ketty supervised the orientation.
Apparently, their high school nature still come up. Still noisy, late from the first until last day, and it's gonna be a long post just to list down their faults. The student committee even gave up with their attitudes. So they asked SSB staffs, including me, to gave them some 'session' on the last day. As usual, session with me meant "Stepmother Session".
When it comes to "stepmother session", the senior students already knew how the session will run. But for new students, it's their very first time and maybe I gave them a great shock. In that session, I literally explode and list down their mistake and violations of rules we agreed before orientation. Judging by the look at their face, they completely shocked hehehe. Yes, Stepmother strike again!
By the end of orientation, we held an inauguration to officially welcomed new students of SSB. Hopefully they can do well during their 4-years of college. Gain new knowledge, make friends, and above all,,, become a successful person with

Love my Student Center team. I was blessed with great co-workers. Three most noisy, funniest, and cheerful women. I couldn't ask for more co-workers than they are.
Dear God, thank you for Your blessing. Alhamdulillah...
Totally excited!!! Finally I have my first duty trip!!! Yes, I have my duty trip to Palembang for SSB Selection Test. When I realized I will go to Palembang, I couldn’t describe how I’m feeling. Nervous and excited mixed up.
I departed at 25/2 with Erwin. I have a confession. I haven’t come to airport for 10 years, as a passenger. Not to pick-up someone. So, I felt like a beginner. Not to mention that I go alone, without my family. I’m totally blind with the process in the airport hehehe. But I have Erwin, my trusted partner from Marketing Team. He guided through phone about the process from check-in until boarding time. Yeah he’s late because his taxi late to pick him up. So I waited him in the boarding room.
Being in boarding room, I can see the runway clearly. I saw planes took off and landed and it excited me more. Little bit worry of course, because it was raining pretty hard. I started to pray for rain to stop. Hey, it’s my first flight after 10 years. It should be warm and shiny. Not gloomy and rainy. The rain stopped when I boarded to the plane. I sat at 6B, got in the middle. My heart started to beat faster, knowing that I will fly again. Pray harder when the plane started taxiing to runway, took off and flew through the clouds. We have turbulences very hard and I felt my heart sank. But, I maintained cool expression eventhough my heart beating faster.
Overall, I enjoy my flight to Palembang. I could see only clouds. The clouds like… soft pillow made me want to sleep on it hehehe. Now I know why few years ago BJ Habibie made a photography book and exhibition captured the beauty of the clouds. They indeed beautiful. Too bad I sat in the middle, not beside the window. I also saw Palembang when we approached the airport. I saw Ampera Bridge, Kemarau Island where there is pagoda. I’ve heard about the legend of the pagoda. But I forgot the story. Hmmm I should dig more about this one.
First day in Palembang, we came to schools for the preparation of the test. Then, shop some snacks. In the hotel, I took a massage treatment. Very soothing. I felt relieved and recharge. Next morning, we went to Sampoerna Academy to see the venue. Prepared the equipment then off to find delicious pempek. We didn’t go to Pempek Candy because we knew the taste. We just want to find another alternative.
Big day 27/2 came as the Selection Test held in that day. It ran well and we finished at 1 PM. I said to Erwin, I must take a picture at Ampera Bridge. To verified that I’ve been to Palembang hehehe. So at 6 PM, we went to Ampera Bridge. It’s cold because after rain. But it didn’t stop me to take pictures. Ampera Bridge at night totally beautiful. That bridge totally huge!!! Now, with that picture, I could say that I’ve been to Palembang hehehe.
On Monday 28/2 we returned to Jakarta, of course with lots of pempek hehehe. I’m sure I will have another chance to go to Palembang again someday, not for business trip. But for travelling. I would like to go back to Palembang again hehehe. Can’t wait for another trip, duty or personal.
Thank you so much for wonderful year.
It’s been a pleasure working with you.
Your vision from the first day of the project until the school established, really enlightened me as a newbie.
I learn a lot from you.
Thank you for your guidance.
Thank you for your knowledge.
But most of all, thank you for your trust.
I love my job, my colleagues and students because you taught me, taught us to love it, too.
I found my passion long time ago.
Under your leadership, the passion growing every day.
I won’t let this passion gone.
I won’t disappoint you with the decreasing passion.
You’ll always be in our heart.
Thank you for everything, Sir.
