Director : Ben Stiller
Stars : Ben Stiller, Kristen Wiig, Shirley MacLaine, Adam Scott, Sean Penn
Well, it's been long time since my last review (it's been a year!!!). This movie, honestly really boost my spirit. I feel I can relate to Walter Mitty's life. How is that???
- Both me and Walter is an employee of big company (well, I was last year hehehe)
- We love to day-dream. Although Walter's day-dream is in extreme level than me (or is it the same???)
- We found courage and, most of all, rediscover ourselves through travel for the first time.
I guess I will make another post for this hehehe. I love this movie so much!!! Ben Stiller, as director, captured beautiful images. I knew Stiller's work as a director mostly in comedy. Not to mention slapstick comedy. So when I watched this movies, it surprised me with how beautiful each scene he captured, how sweet the tone he used. I mean, I almost didn't recognize his trademark.
The daydream scenes, pictured in right proportion. When it comes to daydream, you can accept the exaggeration because, hey it's your imagination. Well, I have to say, those scenes were perfect. Funny and very entertaining.
About the stars, all of them have the chemistry. Stiller's expression really suits the development from boring Mitty to lively Mitty. Kathryn Hahn as Walter's sister added the funny in the movie. Kristen Wiig fit her role as single mother and Mitty's love interest, awkward to each other at first and gradually developed a feeling to Mitty. Sean Penn, as the photographer, maybe his scenes was not more than 30 minutes, but he gave one memorable quote for me...
Sometimes I don't. If I like a moment, for me, personally, I don't like to have the distraction of the camera. I just want to stay in it.
After watching this movie, I couldn't stop smiling for the whole 3 days, LITERALLY!!! It's not everyday you found a movie that made you think you're connected really well. I love the story. I love the scenes, but most of all, I love the spirit it gave to me.
