Iron Man 3 Director : Shane Black Stars : Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley When Tony Stark's world is torn apart by a formidable terrorist called the Mandarin, he starts an odyssey of rebuilding and retribution. (from here) Hahaha too lazy to write the plot. I think you can find it anywhere in the Internet. Last night, I watched Iron Man 3. The last part of Iron Man. Anticipated movie? Well, for me it is. Especially when I heard that Mandarin will come. I must say, I'm have some skeptical about the third sequel in Marvel Universe. I'm totally disappointed with Spider Man 3. The story line, sucks! After Iron Man 2, which is in my opinion, kinda flop in story line, I didn't expect too much with the third one. However, my friends told me it was good (since they are huge fan of Iron Man). When I watched it, totally speechless!
For beginning, Tony Stark's character looked vulnerable. He stated himself that he's not the same anymore since New York's incident (watch The Avengers, right?). He grown obsessed with his suits. He even got panic attack! Shane Black, as the director, explored the other side of Tony Stark that we never seen before. Robert Downey, Jr. did excellent job to bring this vulnerable side, without losing his wittiness as the flamboyant billionaire. Big change came to Pepper Potts' character. Tougher chick than previous movies. In this movie, she's no longer damsel in distress. She will fight for something she believe. I have to give a note about Mandarin. In Marvel Universe, Mandarin depicted as a man with magic rings and tried to dominate the world with technology. In the movies, although we saw the man himself (played brilliantly by Ben Kingsley), Mandarin itself is a concept. Try to dominate the world through science and technology. Millions of dollars spent to find new technology, not for the sake of humanity, but for the sake of greed. I have to say, Ben Kingsley such a scene-stealer. He was so charismatic when he played Mandarin and addressed President through TV. His voice filled with smart, intelligent, but cunning and evil. Made me a little bit scared too. The action scenes, witty lines, new technologies, you can find it in this movie. Overall, Iron Man 3 was the perfect closure for the trilogy. I totally satisfied :)
