Just got an email from Management about mid-year performance review. Suddenly, I want to review what happen this half year. No not about my work performance. Leave that to me and my boss hehehe. Let's start, shall we???
Let's start with movies. I'm not too often watching movies in theater. But once I do, I will try to make it worth the money. So I tried to remember what movies I've watched over these month. I wrote based on my memory (and sometimes my brain sucks):
1. The Vow
I've watched this movie with Mbak Ketty and Nuy. A love story about a husband tried so hard to win back his amnesia wife by starting over. How about one day you wake up from your sleep and find out that your loved one don't remember a bit about your life together, except the life before you met. The whole story was about the struggle of a husband who tried to get his wife back to remember what they've been through. Usually this type of movie is the type I usually pass. But I have to thank Mbak Ketty for took me watch this movie hehehe.
2. 21 Jump Street
A movie based on a hit series starred by Johnny Depp back in early 90's. The story is about a pair of police officer who went undercover as a high school student to stop the distribution of illegal drugs. Full of laugh from the beginning to the end. With a little cameo from Johnny Depp himself, this movie really easy to enjoy. If you want to escape from your routine, then this movie can be your company.
3. The Avengers
A movie that I've been waiting for (and I assumed you too) since years. The Avengers, a group of heroes tried to save the world from evil Loki, god from Asgard. What makes it very happening, all heroes from Marvel universe joined their forces. Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye, together they fought for the world. Big stars gathered in one place. For the story itself, well mixed reaction. Lots of people said, too comedy. While other said it's fine. For me, I love the sarcasms in the movie and also the special effects. Oh, and also the sexiness of Robert Downey Jr. hehehe.
4. Men In Black 3
The sequel of MIB where Agent J went to the past to save Agent K and prevent the end of the world. This movie was better than the second sequel. More entertaining and longer duration hehehe. Who would've thought that Andy Warhol was an MIB agent that went undercover. We all know that Lady Gaga is an alien and MIB watching her moves. Tommy Lee Jones got little part here because the story focused on younger K, played by Josh Brolin. Cool gadgets (even in 60's) and nice storyline, enough said.
5. Snow White and The Huntsman
The dark version of "Snow White and 7 Dwarfs". The main attraction for me, Charlize Theron as Ravenna, the evil queen. She's sooooooooo mean and evil. She maintained her youth by consuming other women's youth. That's why she tried to kill Snow White so she will get eternal youth. During entire movie, I do wish Ravenna could kill Snow White. Yeah, Kristen Stewart soooo boring. Trapped in Bella's role all the time *yawn*.
6. New Year's Eve
If I'm not mistaken, this was the first movie I saw in 2012. Several people have their own stories about New Year's Eve in New York and they will have their final chapter on New Year's Eve celebration. Touching stories. The stories itself made me melt, really want to have the stories like them during New Year's Eve. The main point for me, Jon Bon Jovi, the handsome rocker I love since 90's hehehe.
7. 30 & Fabulous
This movie is Thai movie. Story about women in her 30th birthday dumped by her boyfriend. But there was younger guy who really love her sincerely and tried to win her heart. What I love about Thai movies, when it comes to love story, they made it unconventional. Full of laughs from the beginning to the end. But the movie itself didn't lose the essence, about fight for your love. There are laughs and also tears when I watched this movie. But in the end, all was well.
8. The Raid
An Indonesian action movie. Full of action from the beginning to the end. It was like watching Quentin Tarantino's movie. The story about police raid that went wrong in apartment where all bad guys live. With this movie, I pronounced that Pencak Silat will be the next big thing in movies!!!
9. Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted
To end the first-half of 2012, I watched cartoon with my friends. Now Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo and Melman the Giraffe tried to go back home to New York through Europe. They travel with the Penguins, the Monkeys and the Lemurs on a circus train. In this sequel, love is everywhere. You can see the love interaction of Gloria and Melman, King Julien fell in love with female circus bear, and Alex attracted to a jaguar named Gia. Well this sequel concluded their journey to home. The question is, which home they prefer hehehe.
Now it's July. I will watch another great movies until the end of the year...
Just an ordinary girl that living the extraordinary life with her extraordinary family and friends
