On 9/8, I was invited to my cousin's wedding. There were 2 parts. First part, the akad nikah on 8 AM in the morning. Second part, the wedding reception on 7 PM, exactly 11 hours later.
It took me long preparation for this occasion. Why? I always have short hair, so for this occasion I want to make a hair bun. So for 2 months I tried to make my hair longer. The result, good. My hair got longer and possible to made it into hair bun.
For day look, I made spontaneous decision going with blue color. Well since the ceremony was in the morning, so I thought I will go with bright color
For night look, a bit sentimental journey for me. Started 3 years ago, when my Mum first came back, she brought Indian saree for me. At first, I didn't know the right model because the color and patterns really difficult for me to found the match.
After long search, finally I found the model. I consulted with my trusted tailor and she finished it just in time. No time to do fitting, but it turns out well.
I'm totally happy with my look. I didn't realized that I can made this style. The key is CONFIDENT to explore new style and search references all over the place (magazine, internet). Most of all, know what you want to wear.
I never thought that my life will take part in some positive action, Gerakan Indonesia Mengajar. It started about 2 weeks ago, my friend Sandra, one of the Pengajar Muda, contacted me and asked me to become a facilitator in Festival Gerakan Indonesia Mengajar (FGIM) on 5-6 October 2013. Since I still have education expo to attend on 5/10, I agreed to help on 6/10.
As you may know, today's rain and flood affected thousands people. My friends in the office have this initiative for helping those affected by it. You can read it here.

Over the last few years we've been working with a community on the Ciliwung, Kampung Melayu Kecil. The community is very poor and very prone to flooding. Flooding is so normal that the whole kampung has two stories houses—the first floor for flooding the second floor for living.
Over the last two weeks there has been extensive flooding in their neighborhood reaching up to two meters—the community has been using boats to get around. Many of them depend on their gerobak jualan or bajaj for their livelihoods—but these too are now underwater.
Over the last 24 hours (this was one 15/1... we haven't had any updates since last nights rains) the flooding has risen to 5 meters filling even their second floors—this is the worst flooding they’ve seen since the 2007 floods. Most have evacuated (over 2,000) but many are still stuck in their houses—some are living on the fly over on Jl Casablanca and a mosque nearby. They are in desperate need of dry clothing.
Thursday 17 Jan 2013 Mega and I will go to deliver clothes.
But we will also go again this weekend--so if you can't get clothes to us today-- try again tomorrow.
NEXT: We will chip in to buy some blankets, feminine hygene pads and medicines

It's insane. For 6 years I became UI students but never once I attended Jazz Goes To Campus Festival (JGTC). Ever. Until this year. The reason??? Back then I just want to spent my weekend at home. Not to mention that I don't have passion to watch music concert that much, like now.
This year, I have no intention to watch JGTC. But, when they announced that Nouvelle Vague will perform, suddenly I wanted to go. I only knew their song "Too Drunk To F**k". But that's enough for me. So I bought JGTC ticket from my SSB student. I got the pre-sale 2 price.
Not only me, but my SSB colleagues wanted to come too. So we promised to meet each other. But then we realized that we wanted to watch different performances. I wanted to watch Andre Harihandoyo & The Sonicpeople at 4PM. While other wanted to watch Glenn Fredly, which was on 10 PM. So I came earlier than the others. I also wanted to save seats for Nouvelle Vague.

Last Sunday (12/6) totally blast for me!!! In my previous post, I told about gathering from Indo Star Trek (IST). The long awaited day finally came.
Trekkers gradually came to @america started at 12 PM. Lots of them used uniform, including me (for that, I have to thank my friend Admiral Berthold). During the preparation, I've met some friends and also took pictures here and there. We also have Vulcans and Klingon joined our gathering!!!
The atmosphere surrounding venue has changed. All screens in @america was playing Star Trek movies from the first until the last one, Star Trek: The Future Begins. Well, the venue itself proposed a Star Trek atmosphere. We joked that we have a warp core, while the truth is just big column in the middle of the auditorium.
When the show finally begun, one of my friend, Manto asked me to tweeted about the event using Indo Star Trek's Twitter account. So if you happen to watched the timeline of Indo Star Trek, it was me. At first, I also tweeted from my own account, but then my hands began to full, so I concentrated in Indo Star Trek only. The event was hosted by Bagus Priambodo from TV One, who also a Trekkers.
First part, IST was presenting the facts about Star Trek, lead by Mas Eri. This serial itself already have more than 700 episodes (from 5 series) and 11 movies. Such an achievement for a sci-fi story. The second part, the history about IST itself. IST has evolved several times, started with USS Batavia as the first community for Indonesian Trekkers. Lots of community emerged, both offline and online. Those communities united under one name, Indo Star Trek. Wow, what a journey!!!
Star Trek is way of life. Some Trekkers in the world live their life based on Star Trek philosophy. This was proofed by Ligwina Hananto, the famous financial planner from QM Financial. The Vulcan salute, "Live Long and Prosper" drove Ligwina to became a financial planner. According to her, Vulcan salute is possible to applied in our lives. Her mission, to make Indonesian middle-class stronger and can contribute to other, with managing their financial. She wrote a book called "Untuk Indonesia yang Kuat: 100 Langkah untuk Tidak Miskin". On her book, Ligwina quoted Star Trek's tagline, "To boldly go where no one has gone before". She also put Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek, in her "Thank You" note.
Next part, games. There are 2 games here. First, what should I call it,,, Okay let's call this game, "Why we love Star Trek?". There were 3 scenes from Star Trek played. The point of this game was what is the message from the scene. As we know, Star Trek have lots of theme that related to our reality. It was interesting hear some opinions from audience about the message from the scene.
Second game, guess the character. One player came to the stage, wore bandana with picture attached to it. The player had no idea who is the character. This person must gathered the clue by asking the audience in front of them , who simply answered "yes" or "no". They only have 10 questions for the clue. This game is fun and lots of laugh. The biggest surprise came when Daniel, a 10-year-old Trekkies, guessed the character with 2 questions only!!! Whole auditorium erupted in cheers and laughter, with the biggest laugh came from his dad, Mas Bowo. I bet he was so proud because his son could answer the question.
By the end of the event, we have photo-hunting with professional model with Uhura costume. We also have snacks for the audience. In our own "Ten Forward", we talked and discussed to each other about Star Trek. The names we only knew online, finally we can meet face-to-face that day.
The event ended with photo session with all audience. We took pictures several times, because we can't get enough of blitz everywhere hehehe. The photo session ended, continued with Costume Day in Secret Recipe Pacific Place.
Basically, the Costume Day is fitting session for everyone who interested to have Star Trek uniform, and we invited the tailor for this purpose. While other were fitted, some members talked about the event. Glad that the event ran well and meet new friends.
See you at the next event!!!
PS. I will uploaded pictures from the event. But I need to collect pictures from my friends
